Fast & Light Take 1.5L Everyday Sling (Getting Started Guide)

A step-by-step feature walkthrough of the Fast & Light Take 1.5L Everyday Sling for creators on the move.

Fast & Light Take 1.5L Everyday Sling

Hey, I’m Desy — and this is the smallest member of Moment’s : the Take 1.5L Camera Sling.

The big idea here is ultra-minimal carry with just enough organization to keep your essentials in place and on the body while in action. Think quick errands, street sessions, travel days when you only want the basics, or riding just with a compact camera and a phone. Small, simple, and fast.

Let’s get into it.

Main Compartment:

One Room, Everything You Need

The Take 1.5L is moving to a single, main compartment (instead of two, as per the Moment Everything 2L Sling). That means fewer zippers to manage and one clean space that opens wide so you can see and grab everything at once. If you’ve ever fumbled between “front vs. back” pockets on tiny slings, this change is going to feel great in use.

Inside, you’ll find three mesh pockets — previously in a separate front section, now smartly moved inside the main area so your small bits don’t move around. You can use these to corral a compact charger, AirPods, spare battery, film canister, or a slim card wallet. The mesh keeps things visible so you can spot a black cable or SD card even at a quick glance.

There’s a built-in key clip so you can store keys safely and forget them. I like to dock the keys and slide them into a mesh pocket; that way they stay put and don’t jingle around.

Against the back wall there’s a low-profile slide pocket that hugs your body. It’s the natural home for your phone during active movement which feels super protected with less bounce when you’re hopping on/off a bike or jogging across the street. If you shoot with your phone often, park it here screen-in; you can still draw it out quickly with one hand.

Exterior Access

On the face of the sling is a front mesh pocket that’s now zipper-free by design. The point is "speed" — so you can work in and out without stopping to fumble with a zipper. It’s perfect for transit cards, a folded mask, a granola wrapper until you find a bin, or a tiny notebook you want to grab constantly.

Because the pocket stretches and grips, it holds more securely than it looks. Just keep the truly valuable stuff inside the main compartment or the hidden pocket (more on that next), and use this front mesh for the non-precious items you reach for at any time.

Quick Tip: If you’re worried about things shifting when you’re running, stash flat items horizontally so the mesh tension keeps them pinned.

Back Compartment

Flip the sling over and you’ll find a hidden zip pocket that remains in the design. This is a great mini vault for smaller, flatter EDC items— like your passport, primary wallet, spare cash, or an AirTag. It sits flat against your body while you’re wearing the sling, which makes it discreet and hard to access from the outside.

A little travel ritual I love is placing the passport + boarding pass slip in the hidden pocket during airport sprints, then move the boarding pass to the front mesh while you’re in the security line. Passport stays tucked and out of sight the whole time.

Extras & Details

A couple of intentional choices keep this sling feather-weight and minimal on purpose:

  • There is no 3-point stabilizer strap. On a 2-liter bag, the extra strap adds more complexity than benefit. Wear it cross-body and you’re good — nothing to clip, route, or manage.
  • The signature salmon pink/orange interior carries over, boosting visibility so black accessories don’t disappear into a black hole.
  • The overall silhouette is compact and focused on grab-and-go minimalism. It disappears when you’re not thinking about it and gets out of the way when you are.

Care & Everyday Use

Empty the sling once a week and give it a quick shake-out. Wipe the lining with a slightly damp cloth if you’ve been in sandy, dusty places. If you carry snacks (guilty), dedicate one mesh pocket as the “crumb zone” so you only ever clean one spot.
