To Know:

This lens is what a full-frame fisheye because it allows you to use the full image sensor on the latest camera phones, like the iPhone 11, with no dark corners or vignetting. This means you get a crisp image edge to edge, using 15% more of the image sensor than Moment’s Fisheye 15mm. This lens is also sharper than ultra wide, especially on the edges. This is due to the additional elements of bi-aspheric glass, an all new optical design, and the fact that the lens mounts over the built-in wide lens letting in 25% more light on top of a higher resolution camera. Best of all, it works in Night mode when an ultra wide lens does not. This is, no doubt, the widest and sharpest lens you can shoot on a phone.

What We Love:

1. The Widest it Gets

The look of the lens is super vast, with a 170 degree field of view, producing a 30% wider image than the 120 degrees you will find on ultra wide phones lenses.

2. Night Mode Is Better

Because you’re unable to use the ultra wide lens on the iPhone 11 in Night Mode, you can mount the FIsheye 14mm over the native wide lens in Night Mode for a sharp image that would otherwise be impossible to get.

3. Tack Sharp

Due to the full framed sensor, this means you’ll get a crisp image edge to edge using 15% more of the image sensor than the Fisheye 15mm.

"I thought for sure the iPhone 11 Pro ultrawide was going to replace my GoPro. But what I found was that the low light is worse on the ultrawide than the standard lens… With the 14mm I can shoot wide and not have garbage image quality." - Jesse Driftwood

What Is a Fisheye Lens?

The Fisheye 14mm makes it possible to get super close to the action and still get the shot. Whether shooting close subjects, tight interiors, or large buildings, a Fisheye lens is a go to lens for photographers and filmmakers to perfect a larger than life look. More importantly, this Fisheye 14mm delivers both a wider and higher quality image than the ultra wide lens on newer phones, especially whilst in Night mode.

Wider (& Sharper) Than An Ultra Wide Lens

This lens has 50 degrees more field of view than the built-in ultra wide on the iPhone 11. That’s 30% wider, or 1.3x more image. Secondarily this lens has multiple aspherical elements inside, maximizing every corner of the image sensor in the latest camera phones. Lastly, the lens works over the built-in wide lens on the phone, which is a higher quality camera. You end up with a larger image that is crisper in detail than the built-in ultra wide lens.

This lens delivers a full frame fisheye look, similar to what you’d expect on a large camera or an action camera. Naturally, the edges are slightly curved like a classic fisheye, or you can shoot with our Pro Camera app and flatten the image to remove the curvature as much as you’d like. Whether shooting photos or videos, this lens should be in your kit.

Fisheye Lens vs. Ultra Wide vs. GoPro Hero 8

Better In Night Mode Than An Ultrawide

The ultra wide lens on iPhone 11 Pro doesn’t work in night mode. The Moment Fisheye 14mm does. That is because the lens sits over the built-in wide, which works in Night mode. Now you can get those crispy, super wide neon shots.

In Detail

This lens shoots like a full frame Fisheye with a multi-element, aspherical glass design. Designed for multi-lens phones, there was a lot of time spent making sure the lens was crisp edge to edge and didn’t have any black corners or vignetting. Our lenses are hand assembled and rely on the same quality of glass you would find in cinema lenses.

Moment took the classic bending you get from a traditional fisheye, then worked tooth and nail to make the image clean all the way through with no black corners or edges. It maintains the bubbly look you expect from a fisheye, with an image that is 100% crisp edge to edge on the latest and greatest mobile devices.
