Using Moment's 1.33x Anamorphic Adapter

The idea is simple — attach the adapter to your camera lens for better-looking video.

Not all consumers can afford a $10K anamorphic lens the Hollywood elites use, so fetching an adapter makes more financial sense. Moment's versatile tool is an excellent choice, as it works with almost any kind of lens on the market — whether new or vintage, regardless of the brand.

It features a 67mm rear thread with step-up rings for 72mm, 77m, and 82mm filter threads for vintage lenses. Combining classic anamorphic geometry and the character of soft vintage glass, its users get a complete set of options for creating unique and custom looks for their projects.

Guide To Focus Pulling

Focus throw refers to the rotation needed to move the focus from its minimum to its maximum setting. Focus pulling is a technique used in filmmaking in which the focus of the image is changed during a shot, usually to draw attention to a particular subject or area in the frame.

The focus throw is 180º for our adapter, and you will need to use something like this for focus pulling from Simmod Lens. If the diameter of your focus barrel measures between 87mm and 93mm, this kit will be compatible. A compression value of -1mm should be obtained when the rubber insert is compressed to its fullest extent. For instance, if your lens barrel has a diameter of 59.2mm, the 59mm insert would be suitable. If necessary, you can use the shimming tape in the kit to make minute adjustments to the fitment.

Compatibility

We've made this adapter as compatible with as many lenses as possible – vintage included. Our Included adapters fit 67mm, 72mm, 77mm, and 82mm filter threads.

Sony, Fuji, Blackmagic, Leica, Nikon, Canon, and more will be compatible. As long as you use a camera with lenses with a standard filter thread, this adapter will work like a charm.

Due to the natural manipulation from Anamorphic’s aspect ratio, your final image will be affected differently depending on the focal length of your lens. Therefore, it’s important to note that we recommend a minimum focal length for getting the best results on Full Frame, Super 35, and Micro Four-Thirds.
