WHY DO I NEED A VND?
If you want precise control over your exposure and shutter speed without constantly swapping static filters, the Moment Variable ND is an essential tool for your setup. Engineered with dual layers of premium German Schott B270 cinema glass, it reduces light evenly across the frame while eliminating common issues like color shifts, vignetting, or cross-polarization ("X-pattern"). Built-in hard stops keep your rotation strictly within bounds, while laser-etched, angled stop markings are visible right from behind the viewfinder so you can adjust settings on the fly without breaking your shoot.

We want our filters to be easier to use, no matter the conditions. easy to stack multiple filters, easy grip and rotate, and even easy to use with standard lens caps. Using a filter shouldn’t be hard.
I bought the 2-5 stop version specifically for shooting automotive events outdoors, and it’s been incredible. Harsh mid-day sunlight is tough on car photos, but this VND tames it perfectly. Teaming it up with the Moment CPL is a remarkable combination—you get perfect exposure control alongside zero window glare. The build is premium and it’s easy to adjust on the fly. Worth every penny!
I'm just getting into landscape and long exposure photography so I did the thing where I try to buy a cheap filter to see how much I'd use it.
Turns out-- yes, I use variable NDs a LOT for long exposure.
Also it turns out those $20-40 variable NDs you can get from Amazon are just okay, but you get a LOT of uneven discoloration running across your image. I had Gobi one that gave me a giant purple plus sign running across the middle of my frame (kind of a cool effect but not really what I want in my long exposure shots)
Enter the Moment variable NDs-- no matter how much I crank these up, there's no discoloration at all. I'm attaching a photo taken with a stupid long exposure time for the daytime using the 6-9 stop filter (f/22, 30 sec, iso 100). This filter was cranked up all the way and I can't spot any discoloration at all (I can, however, spot a few specs of dust on my sensor, whoops!).
My one complaint might be that you can't use a lens hood with these due to the wider edges (I'm running the 67mm version), but that's never been a bad issue for me. It does make it easier to screw on/take off, however, since it's not flush and since you can get a nice grip on the edge of the filter
Do yourself a favor and just save yourself the money and pick up one (or two) of these-- buy once, cry once, and buy with confidence that your shots will come out great

I’ve been using this VND filter for outdoor photography and I’m really happy with it. It makes it much easier to control the amount of light coming into the lens, especially when shooting in bright sunlight. The filter is easy to adjust and the build quality feels solid. It’s been a useful addition to my camera gear, and I would recommend it to anyone who shoots outdoors.

Began shooting in earnest on iPhone six months ago. Moment has been my brand without fail. As with the other lens (Anamorphic 1:33 w. blue flare) the ND filter has increased the quality of my videos tenfold.
Unfortunately it’s blurry and unusable on focal lengths 100mm and above. Definitely not resolving a quality good enough for above 4K (4K might be pushing it). Missed some unique wildlife shots discovering this. Color cast below that that can be corrected but could make color matching difficult on video. Should have grabbed the nisi. Build quality is decent. Also be aware the wide flare means it can’t be used with a lens hood if you want to use one.

I still have more testing to do with these, but they have been solid for me so far. Sometimes NDs can be lower quality and have a green tint sort of shift to them, but I've gotten none of that from these. Great build quality, solid look, I really enjoy them.

Like everything moment makes. It’s perfect.
I just finished a cross country commercial project that required me to film from a moving vehicle at all times. Simply stated, it would have been impossible without these.
The product works really well, but I do have one complaint with adjusting it while using it on a phone with the mobile mount. When trying to turn the filter to adjust it oftentimes the whole thing screws off or the mount twists making it annoying to adjust while attached.

The Moment ND filter mounted on the Moment 58mm tele lens allows me to capture images with nice bokeh on my iPhone.

Really love the solid build quality and the crisp visuals. It's a little more difficult than I anticipated to use it in conjunction with the lens filter adapter - when I turn the ND filter, it often turns the Moment lens which is . . . suboptimal. Other than that, really solid and nice experience.
This filter is really a great deal for the price. Ideal again for travel and smaller cameras. I use it on my Fuji XT5 with the Sigma 18-50 lens. It's all you need for a travel photo/video scenario.
