When it comes to camera bags, Moment has been on a roll lately with their Fast and Light Collection — a lineup built around comfort, mobility, and just enough organization to keep you ready for any kind of shoot or adventure. The 7L Sling is the largest in the Fast and Light sling family, sitting above the 1.5L and 4L versions. It’s specifically tailored for photographers and creators who want something lightweight but still big enough to carry a camera body, a couple of lenses, and everyday key items.

After spending time with the Fast and Light 7L Sling, I can confidently say that Moment nailed the balance between comfort, function, and style — though it’s not without a few minor quirks (listen, it's good to be nitpicky!).

Here’s a detailed breakdown of everything I loved, and what I think could be improved.

The first thing you notice when putting on the 7L Sling is how well it hugs the torso. It sits close and moves naturally with your ribcage and shoulders — whether you’re walking, biking, or climbing over rocks for that perfect shot.

The back panel is mcrafted with breathable padded mesh, which keeps things cool and comfortable with mulitlplate, even on long days. The strap uses that same padded mesh material which promised a consistent comfort across your chest line. It’s soft, airy, and absorbs weight without feeling mucky or stiff after few hours.

For a larger capacity, the 7L feels surprisingly stable. It doesn’t flop or swing around, and even when fully packed, it stays balanced against the body. The Moment team really nailed this aspect of the bag, which I know was a massive undertaking in the design room.

On the front, Balance 7L gives you a large mesh stretch stash pocket, and I love this feature. It’s super flexible, breathable, and big enough for bulkier items like sunglasses or gloves.

Because it stretches, it’s ideal for things you need to grab quickly without unzipping the main compartment. So it gives you that quick convenience without bulking up the bag’s sleek profile (I hate wearing bulky bags).

Open the main compartment, and you’re seeing that delicious salmon pink interior, making it easy to find your gear in low light, which is invaluable during early morning shoots or late-night rigging.

Inside this large pocket is where the sling shines brightest. You can easily fit a mirrorless camera and two lenses, with plenty of room for smaller accessories. There are two padded slide pockets along the interior walls, which I like to stuff filters, cables, or compact SSD drives.

The padded Velcro divider lets you split the space into one, two, or three separate compartments so you can Tetris-style the setup however you like.

At the back of the main area, you’ll see a zippered padded slide pocket with three mesh stretch organizers made for things like memory cards, cash, or a passport.

Lastly, there's more internal side stretch pockets, which are fantastic for small EDC items like AirPods, batteries, or even a lens cloth.

Everything inside the main stash feels super deliberate, it feels like a camera-person actually made the bag.

On the back side of the sling, there’s a a few hidden zippered compartments; a feature I always appreciate. It’s extra flat and discreet, making it my favorite spot for storing cash, passports, or travel documents in the airport. Since it sits directly against your back, it’s naturally secure and hidden from others' view.

The 7L’s exterior really shows off Moment’s attention to details.

Along the bottom is a stretch mesh pass-through sleeve, which is where I stuff in my umbrella, tripod, jacket, or water bottle. On either side, bungee cords help tighten and secure whatever you store there, keeping it stable even if I"m on the bike.

A hugely thoughtful touch is that the bottom of the sling is padded, which goes a long way when you’re carrying an expensive camera setup inside. You can confidently set the sling down without worrying about hard impacts on mad-dashes.

The strap system on the 7L Sling is really impressive, and a feature of the sling the team spent careful attention on to maximize packability.

It’sfully removable on either side, giving you the ability to configure it however you like. Moment even designed it so the strap can double as a camera strap, which is a great concept in theory. However, in practice, the carabiner-style hooks are a bit too large to fit standard camera strap lugs (at least on mine). It’s a smart idea that just needs refinement, I'd think that slightly smaller clips would make it truly functional for most cameras.

On the strap itself, you get a long vertical zippered pocket that’s big enough for an iPhone or small wallet. Inside that pocket are two mesh stretch compartments, which is extra storage for smaller throw-away items like batteries, AirPods, or gum wrappers.

Since the bag is clearly aimed at outdoor use, the main compartment should really have a waterproof zipper. The material can handle light rain, but full waterproofing would make this bag way more prone to handle the elements.

The Moment Fast and Light 7L Sling is truly an impressive balance of comfort, capacity, and thoughtful organization. It’s bug enough to hold my more serious camera gear but compact and lightweight enough to wear all day without it digging into my ribs. It offers you a nice body-hugging fit with breathable mesh padding, and versatile storage making it one of the most well-rounded camera slings I’ve tested in this size class.

Yes, it’s not flawless — the right-shoulder bias, oversized strap clips, and lack of waterproofing hold it back slightly — but these are all easy fixes that Moment could refine in future versions.
