Fast & Light Balance 7L Camera Sling (Getting Started Guide)
Fast & Light Balance 7L Camera Sling
Hey, I’m Desy — bag gear reviewer for Moment on YouTube.
The Balance 7L Camera Sling is part of Moment’s new Fast & Light Camera Bag Collection. This is a sample (a few details may change before launch), and I wanted to be the first to walk you through how to set it up for daily carry, travel, and shoots so you can get fast access, clean organization, and locked-in comfort when you’re moving.
Note: This is a sample unit, so a few details may change before launch; I’ll call those out where it matters in the video (linked above).
Let’s get into it.

Why a 7L Sling?
The 7L hits a sweet spot for mirrorless and hybrid creators, meaning it's compact but capable, fast to use, and stays secure on the body when you’re on the move. This one apart of the latest Fast & Light collection has deep pocketing inside and out keeps your essentials mapped, while the detachable strap and 3-point stabilizer adds nimbleness you won’t outgrow.
Key Features:
Sweet-spot size for everyday kits
Detachable strap doubles as a camera strap
Pocketing balances speed + security
3-point stabilizer prevents forward rotation
Front/bottom mesh add flexible overflow
Detachable Shoulder Strap
It’s a shoulder strap that begs for its own spotlight. You can use the zip pocket for phone and smaller items, then detach the strap and clip it to your camera lugs or anchors when you want to roam even lighter. I like to mark my preferred length with gaffer tape so you can swap between bag and body without guessing.

Main Compartment Setup
Lo and behold the main compartment. Inside, there’s a removable/expandable velcro divider that gives you a secure bay for your camera or large lens. There’s a bunch of hidden mesh pockets perfect for an AirTag or even cash, while the zip stash with mesh sleeves keeps filters, cards, and fragile bits from scratching. Plus, there’s two front slide pockets to hold fast-grab items like a cloth or cleaning pen.
What It Holds:
Removable dividers (horizontal for long lens OR vertical for a camera body + prime lens)
Hidden side mesh pockets for AirTag/cash/batteries
Zip stash pocket with mesh sleeves for filters/small accessories
Two front slide pockets for quick-grab tools

Back Compartment
Keep flat items against your body better comfort during all-day holds. The back slide pocket is designed (in pre-production) to fit up to a 9” iPad, plus notebooks or photoshoot shot lists. This hidden stash is your safest spot for passport or wallet when traveling.
What It Holds:
Flat slide pocket for up to 9” iPad
Hidden stash pocket for passport/wallet
Best to keep this area “flat” for better comfort

External Features & Extras
On the outsite, there’s the front mesh zip pocket lets you see what’s where at a glance. The bottom mesh pocket cradles a travel tripod, slim bottle, or even a packable jacket. My favorite part is how you can clip on the removable 3-point stabilizer when you don’t want the sling to swing around , which is especially clutch for biking, scooting downhill, or scrambling up the mountain.
What It Has:
Front mesh zip for visible quick access
Bottom mesh pocket for tripod/bottle/jacket
Removable 3-point stabilizer to stop rotation
Cinch and tension for active movement

What It Fits
This 7L swallows a surprising amount of gear without turning into a heavy black hole. Either street kits, mobile setups, and hybrid day shoots where you want a couple of lenses or camera bodies. When packed in Tetris-style, you can slot in heavier items near the back panel and reserve mesh sleeves for fragile tidbits.
Some real-life load outs I was able to pack in:
The Everyday Mirrorless:
An a7C/X-T body + 35mm attached; one small prime; batteries/cards/cloth; iPad mini-class tablet.
The Mobile Creator:
A phone + QuickLock filters/CineBloom; small mic; compact LED; travel gimbal/tripod; power bank + cables.
The Hybrid Day Shoot:
A camera body + compact zoom; one prime; filter wallet (ND/CineBloom); spare battery; packable shell underneath.
