What’s So Special About the Moment iPhone 17 Camera Case?

The only solution to make your camera phone even better.

Who Is the iPhone 17 Camera Case For?

Every tech-forward company has its own take on the iPhone 17 case. Some lean ultra-rugged, others sleek and design-forward. Moment is a bit of both, and then some. We’ve gone through countless iterations to refine the design, but the point has always been the same: to be the first choice, the solid foundation, for pushing the phone’s already great camera even further.

Our iPhone case is, and always will be, made for creators.

We jumped into the case game in 2018, right after our mobile lenses gained traction. Initially, we designed standalone lens mounts that clipped onto iPhones, Samsungs, and even early Pixels, but the constant attaching and detaching were better in theory. We needed to come up with a much quicker and more intuitive per-device solution, which was when we realized that the case itself had to be part of the system.

Year after year, we’ve tweaked, tested, and refined. That’s really what makes Moment, Moment. People assume we have a giant squad of engineers monitoring Reddit 24/7, but that’s not true. We’ve kept it tight through just a handful of in-house engineers, a three-person operations team, and a five-person marketing crew, all of whom wear multiple hats. We’re small, but scrappy, which is why this stuff feels so personal.

What started as a single Wide 18mm lens that revolutionized the mobile photography world has grown into a full-fledged ecosystem, including filters, mounts, straps, cages, and more. We’ve come a long way, none of it works without the Moment case. It’s the unsung hero of the lineup. The starting base.

So why ours, when literally everyone makes a phone case? Because Moment Camera Cases are the gateway to a better camera experience on your phone. You can snap on one of our lenses in seconds, pop in a QuickLock filter, clip on a wrist or cross-body strap, and still charge wirelessly with MagSafe like nothing’s there. The material feels solid and long-lasting, and doesn’t feel like you bought them in a desperate 2 a.m. Amazon scroll.

The Moment Camera Case & Compatibility

Our cases aren’t another dressed-up accessory you feel obligated to buy when you upgrade. With it, you’re essentially setting up a foundation that connects seamlessly with the rest of our gear for a more seamless mobile camera experience. The case is ready whenever you decide to snag a new lens, filter, or strap.

T-Series Moment Lenses

We make two kinds of lenses: T-Series and M-Series. Check out this article that goes over the nitty-gritty if you want to learn more.

The short version is that T-Series lenses are designed for iPhone 14 and later models, while the older M-Series lenses are being phased out and can only be used with iPHone 13 models and older. T-Series glass offers sharper resolution, fits perfectly with Apple’s newer camera bezels, and is the way forward for anyone shooting on new phones.

So, if you’re rocking an iPhone 17, our case is built with T-Series compatibility for the main and wide cameras. But full transparency, the Ultra-Wide won’t work, because zoom can get a little weird, which we’ve found in our early testing. Although I’m not certain you’d even want to use a lens over the ultra-wide camera anyway.

QuickLock Filters

QuickLock Filters connect directly to the Moment Camera Case, covering the entire camera bezel, eliminating the need for fumbling or cross-threading. These best-sellers have swiftly become our quickest way to shoot yet. And while they’re already compatible with the iPhone 15 and 16 Pro/Pro Max, the iPhone 17 lineup receives its own set of QuickLocks due to a few of Apple’s iterations.

Unfortunately, and I hate to break this news, but due to Apple’s latest design — the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max filters aren’t cross-compatible with the standard iPhone 17, and they also don’t work backward. We’d love it if they did, but Apple doesn’t exactly check in with us before moving the camera lenses around.

In short, our iPhone 17 QuickLock filters are compatible only with the Pro and Pro Max models.

MagSafe Accessories

Yes, every Moment Camera Case is compatible with MagSafe. You can snap on your favorite already-owned MagSafe gear, or check out some of ours. Personally, I can’t live without the Car Vent Mount during my commutes, and if you’re a mobile filmmaker, the SuperCage turns your phone into a sweet mini camera rig, complete with USB-C charging ports.

Screen Protectors

Screen protectors are, unfortunately, a bit of a pain with the iPhone 17 Camera Case. Anything that wedges itself between your Moment lens and your phone’s camera (like a bulky 3rd party protector) disrupts alignment and might leave your shots a tad soft or out of focus.

But luckily, our Drop-In Lens Mount doubles as both a secure mount and protection for your phone’s camera.

Doesn’t Wear (and Cleans Easily)

What I love most about this case is how tough it is. I drop my phone at least twice a day (typically on my concrete floors), and you’d never know by looking at it. Unlike leather cases, which look amazing for about a week before they start picking up weird stains and become greasily patinated.

The cleaning is easy by design. Just hit it with a mild household spray, such as a water & white vinegar concoction, using a soft cloth every so often to keep it from looking used. Steer clear of bleach or anything harsh to avoid any weird discoloration patterns.

iPhone 16 vs. iPhone 17 Camera Case Differences

We’ve iterated on the iPhone cases extensively over the years, but the iPhone 17 case series introduced some noticeable upgrades. We’re back to a full TPU case design with a grippy, micro-textured back that’s less slippery, more flexible, and basically scratch-proof. I know the Reddit users are going to be stoked on this one (lol).

For iPhone 17 specifically, we added a new built-in capture button cover. Instead of leaving a cutout, this cover translates the phone’s haptic feedback directly through the case. It’s more ergonomic, feels natural, and yes, it’s removable if you’d rather go without.

NEW QuickLink Sockets

This is a first for Moment cases. The iPhone 17 lineup features a QuickLink socket, which works with our twist-and-lock connectors, allowing you to instantly attach a strap. No threading tiny cords through tinier holes, which was never a huge issue, but this makes them way more manageable on the fly.

We've kept the classic strap loop for the purists out there, but please note that our iPhone Air Case doesn’t come with QuickLink (they’re super slim and simply don’t allow for it).

iPhone 17 Kit Builder

One of the best updates on our site since moving to Shopify is the Kit Builder — and the iPhone 17 kits are easily our best yet. Rather than buying everything piecemeal, you can bundle cases, lenses, QuickLock filters, lights, mics, and even the SuperCage into a full ecosystem. Plus, you’ll literally save $150 just for building a kit in one go around.
