I’m Desy Cheng, and this guide walks you through setting up the Moment Everything Backpack 21L. Moment also sees a slight smaller 17L if that’s your vibe or the a 28L capacity which I’ve covered in this getting started article should you need. Let’s get you dialed in. • 17L: Slim daily carry for smaller frames and minimalist kits. Great for city commuting and light creator loads.

• 21L: Roomier main compartment for a compact camera kit, a change of clothes, and extra tech. Fits up to a 16" laptop in the dedicated rear sleeve.

Both sizes share the same thoughtful organization and streamlined look; pick the volume that matches your day.

Quickly up side camera access by anchoring the 4L Insert to the quick-access wall so your camera is always within reach on the back. The main compartment leaves room for a compact tripod, tech pouches, or daily EDC items, while the extra large zippered mesh pocket keeps small accessories visible and tightly packed.

Up front, a roomy stash pocket handles grab-and-go items like wipes, keys, or sunglasses, with a hidden internal zip pocket for cash or a passport. There's also a single oversized water-bottle pocket with dual elastics keeps bottles locked in; it doesn't move around much while rushing through airport security, so that's a plus.

Around back, the dedicated tech bay fits up to a 16" laptop in the 21L, plus a tablet sleeve and built-in organizers for chargers, cables, and pens. It's got padded, ventilated shoulder straps and a breathable back panel that makes lugging around gear comfy.

Tighten shoulder straps so the bag rides high on your back. Keep the heaviest items (camera insert and laptop) closest to your spine to keep the weight off the low back and shoulders.

There's a few different personas that can maximize the use case of this backpack. I've taken it around amongst several of them, often double dipping for long hauls.

Basic Day Kit (21L)

You can pack any X-series or similar mirrorless camera body with prime lens in 4L Insert, extra lens or mic, compact tripod, notebook, the Moment Tech Organizer, headphones, light jacket, water bottle, 16" laptop + tablet.

Coffee Shop Days

Stuff in a tablet or 16" laptop, the Tech Organizer, wallet/keys in front pocket, earbuds, snacks, water bottle, light layer. Optional here, but feel free to pack a point-and-shoot in the insert for a spur-of-the-moment photo walk.

Parent-On-Call

I know the drill! Grab the 4L Insert with a small camera for kid moments, diapers/wipes in the main zip-up, snacks in front pocket, a water bottle, tablet in the rear sleeve, and even a spare tee in a packing cube.
