    What we'll do

    With crystal clear skies, remote beaches, and a rugged coastline located in the picturesque Oregon Islands, Floras Lake will be the base camp for our Oregon Coast Astro Workshop. This unique area is a haven of natural beauty with breathtaking views of the Milky Way, meteor showers, and other celestial wonders while exploring the Oregon coast. You’ll have amazing opportunities to practice your night sky photography skills and learn from an expert instructor and guide. We’ll cover everything from camera settings to composition, and provide hands-on instruction and feedback to help unlock your full potential as we explore some of Oregon's best night sky locations. In addition to the photography sessions, you’ll have the chance to relax and unwind in the natural surroundings of Floras Lake and the Pacific Ocean and connect with other like-minded photographers who share your passion for capturing the beauty of the night sky.       7 pm workshop meets at floras Lake Boyce Campground on Floras Lake for introductions, check equipment and talk through the evenings shoot. Sunset 8:20 pm Blue hour 8:39 pm Galactic Center 10:09 pm- 1:25 am 1:30 am workshop breaks for the morning

    Whether you are a beginner or an advanced pro, we will be teaching you all of our skills, tricks, and tips while exploring locations that are complete dreams to photograph. This workshop offers some of the best night sky shooting locations in the world. A perfect place to learn, sharpen your skills or add to your professional portfolio.

    Meals, lodging and transportation are not included

    Food:

    The town of Langlois has a small cafe, market and deli and a coffee shop within 5 miles of our location on Floras Lake. Bandon (14.1 mi) and Port Orford (12.8 mi) both have groceries, restaurants, and cafe.

    Transportation:

    We do not provide transportation, but will be shooting within 15 miles of our location for the workshop. We can introduce you with other members at camp if

    you are interested in carpooling.

    Lodging:

    We do not provide lodging, however there are campsites available at Floras Lake, Boice Cope campground for those who would like to camp with us under the stars. There is lodging via Air BNB and Bed and Breakfasts on Floras Lake. Hotels and Motels can be found in nearby Bandon or Port Orford.
