The DJI OP 2 Review

Small Gimbal Camera, Big Movements

A fun, compact camera gimbal from DJI. One of the first of its kind, this little guy can be put in the back pocket for on-the-go scenes and stunning 4K video at a moment’s notice.

It's called the Osmo Pocket for a reason!

To Know:

What’s the secret to DJI Pocket 2? A 3-axis gimbal stabilizes the camera for smooth video on the move. This technology is also great for creative photos like handheld long-exposure shots. Basically like capturing Hollywood-like camera footage with the quick swift of a button and pan of action. DJI’s name continuously boasts excellent products, and it might be true with this little fellow. The Pocket 2 is ready to capture it all.

Small Camera, Big Moments.

Pocket-sized and extremely portable, DJI Pocket 2 is a tiny camera that lets you single-handedly record memorable moments. Equipped to stabilize movement and take sharp photos and smooth videos, Pocket 2 gives you the freedom to create magic at hand. DJI Pocket 2 fits perfectly in your hand, bag, or pocket so that you can take it anywhere. When your journey begins or something suddenly catches your eye, Pocket 2 is ready to capture it all.

DJI packed the Pocket 2 camera with photo and video abilities that let you create share-worthy content and make moments last forever. A good life is full of color, so show it all. With HDR video, the Pocket 2 separates exposure levels by area and layers the image so that the footage pops with life-like detail. If you’re looking for crazy detail, Pocket 2 is insane. When taking 64MP photos, the stabilized camera takes sharp 8x zoom shots.

With audio more particularly, DJI Matrix Stereo technology records audio with so much real detail, it lets you relive the scene. Four microphones on the handle provide surround-sound audio, letting you relive the magic.Pocket 2 adjusts the direction of audio enhancement wherever the camera is pointing, so your subject is clearly heard. As the video zooms in, so does the audio, creating a more dynamic soundtrack. Pocket 2 lets you record sound in three distinct sound patterns to suit the scene.

The original Osmo Pocket released in November of 2018 that looked especially more suitable for the pixel peepers than a place in your vlogging setup, but this season has proved to be a popular little piece of tech despite recent leaps in smartphone video. The question remains if you can bring the little guy to the vlogging party? Sure! But mainly for extra sporty scenes, I wouldn’t call this your main rig, preferably an extra for short form videos and social cuts.

Mini little baby.

Take it anywhere.

In Detail:

This baby’s got an even bigger sensor for those looking for added detail. With an increase of almost 64m effective pixels, that’s more added crispiness to every shot, unmatched. A 1.8 built-in aperture gives creamy bokeh to background surfaces and landscapes, making your subject pop with ease. The 3-axis gimbal stabilization techniques make for the perfect, seamless balancing tool there is. No setup or extra attachments needed. Its HDR mode is quite impressive, as well, considering most of these setups are rather gimmicky and asinine.
