We’re not sure, but we know it’s really cool and photogenic.

A Fibonacci Sequence is a sequence of numbers starting with a 1 — or 0, followed by a 1. Each next number in the sequence is found by adding the preceding two numbers. (Eg. “0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34…”)

The bizarre-o reason this math tenant relates to photography, and art in general, is because this sequence can be found almost everywhere in nature. From the number of petals on a flower to the scales on a pineapple. Without even realizing, we’re drawn to the patterns created by this sequence, and we implement them into our art and daily lives. Try looking for your own sometime!
