Van Life: Rad Vehicles, Places, and Adventures

Words : Zach Reed

Van Life, originally called Van Dwelling has become a celebrated lifestyle on Instagram. Rad vehicles, totally renovated, that give people a front porch view to the world’s most amazing places.

I don’t yet own a rad travel rig, but I’ve fallen in love with the idea of traveling the world in a box on wheels. The places I would see, the people I would meet, and the freedom of the open road. Through Instagram, I’ve been able to stay inspired by following others who are living life on the road.

Here are ten of my favorite creatives on Instagram that are living life on the road. Many of them have taken it up a notch from just a van.

#1 – @graeme.r.bell

Graeme Bell along with his wife and two children, are currently on a multi continent journey in their Land Rover RTW. They’ve outfitted their rig with all the adventure necessities for years on the road. From South Africa to South America, Graeme and his family truly embody a life of adventure. They’ve also published several books on their adventures which can be found here. For more on the Bell Family check out their website and Instagram.

#2 – @desktoglory

When they’re not on the road Richard works as a Wedding Photographer and Ashley works as a Registered Holistic Nutritionist. Their adventures have taken them from Canada all the way down to South America. Head over to their website and Instagram account to see more from their adventures and to find out more about their adventure mobile setup, “Little Red”.

#3 – @theuniblog

David Roth is a film director by day and overlander by night with a classic 1964 Mercedes-benz Unimog. In his tank-like rig, David has done a lot of overlanding over the past few years, always documenting his travels along the way.
