Top 5 Cinematic Locations to Shoot in San Francisco

Words + Photos + Videos : Sara Oliveira

If you'll be in San Francisco any time soon, don't miss these unbelievable locations to grab some cinematic footage and gorgeous photos.

1. Bernal Heights Swing

Bernal Heights Blvd. San Francisco, CA 94111

Within the Moment App, use the double tap feature to split your exposure between the background and subject. Make sure you set your focus on the subject.

Use the Moment Wide lens for a nice panoramic view.

2. Ferry Building

1 San Francisco Bay Trail, San Francisco, CA 94111

I use the app “Sun Surveyor” to see where the sun is going to be at what time. I recommend picking a time around “high noon” when the light will be coming through the top windows.

Turn on your grid lines in the Moment App to help you take clean, symmetrical shots.

3. Wave Organ

83 Marina Green Dr, San Francisco, CA 94123

If you've never heard a "sea organ" before, you are in for one of the most eerie and beautiful treats of your life.

Make sure you check the tide before you go. This spot is best at high tide. Also make sure you are quiet and inconspicuous while you shoot. There is a very ‘zen’ feel to the area.

4. Fort Miley Secret Skatepark

4150 Clement St, San Francisco, CA 94121

This secret skatepark is epic. You may find it eerily empty (when does that ever happen in California?) or packed with awesome local skaters. If you want it packed, you should either bring your own board/skater friends or go on the weekend to make sure there will be skaters there.

Use your camera app in ‘burst mode’ to best capture fast action.

5. Sutro Baths

1004 Point Lobos Ave, San Francisco, CA 94121

I highly recommend going around sunset for epic “golden hour” content.
