Celebration and Protest: The Faces of Democracy

Words : Brian Cason

Friday January 20th marked a historic day in American history. After 8 years of serving the American people, President Obama and his administration peacefully transferred power to Donald Trump, the 45th President of the United States.

The Inauguration of President Trump sparks many different feelings among Americans. For some a sense of pride and hope, while others face feelings of heartache and sadness. While Americans may not see eye to eye with the new Administration, it’s the freedom to express those differences that makes America a place that so many are proud to call home.

Across the country, thousands went out in celebration and in protest. The following mobile photographers were in the midst of these historic events capturing perspectives that only their eyes can.
